Los Niños del Valle

Los Niños del Valle

Los Niños del Valle is an Arizona state licensed childcare center offering daycare for children twenty-four months to thirty–six months (Terrific Twos Program) and three years to five years old (Preschool Program). Los Niños has provided daycare for families in the area since 1975. Intergenerational programming distinguishes day care services at Casa where the facility was specifically designed to accommodate this valuable program integration between Los Niños del Valle Pre School , the Adult Day Health Care Program and senior activities at the Casa Community Center.

Los Niños del Valle child-care provides comprehensive, curriculum-based programs for young children. Offering a maximum of 10 ½ hours of care a day, Monday through Friday, families know their children are receiving quality care in a safe environment. Each day we provide a nutritious lunch and two snacks, a thematic curriculum, structured play and professional care.

Recognizing the extensive values of intergenerational interaction, we ensure that the children of Los Niños del Valle, together with older adults from Green Valley, participate in a variety of activities that are fun and growth oriented for both age groups. Currently, the children of Los Niños and the adults of Casa de Esperanza’s Adult Day Health Care and the Casa Community Center join together for daily activities. The children also visit adults who are residents at La Posada, a continuum Care Facility. These visits combine socialization with mutually enjoyable activities, such as sharing music, exercise, gardening, reading, conversation, creating arts & crafts projects and celebrating special holiday events.

Older adult volunteers are scheduled on a weekly basis to spend quality time at Los Niños del Valle as part of our intergenerational programming. Additional volunteers are scheduled for special assignments such as art, music, and storytellers. Both adults and children benefit greatly from these activities. These volunteers help lower our student to adult ratio, which increases the level of quality offered in the childcare we provide.

We are fortunate to have a conscientious teaching and care-giving staff. All staff members have first aid and C.P.R. training and have been finger printed for screening prior to being hired. The curriculum and daily schedule are carefully planned and children benefit from the staff’s continuing education, training, and experience.

The Adult Day Health Care Center

The Adult Day Health Care Program is a state-licensed program that provides our participants with a safe and stimulating environment, while offering caregivers respite from the continual responsibility of providing for loved ones who may be losing the capability to care for themselves. Adult Day Health Care (ADHC) services provide community-based care, which often helps in delaying a premature placement in an institutional care setting.

Participants who attend ADHC are coping with such disabilities as Parkinson’s disease, strokes, Alzheimer’s disease or other cognitive impairments, cardiac or respiratory illness, mental or emotional impairment and isolation/loneliness. The program assists adults of all ages.

Staff includes licensed nurses and health aides and an Activity Specialist, who plans the daily activities. Our participants enjoy a variety of individual and group activities, including, exercise, entertainment, monthly theme parties, and field trips. The nursing staff administers medications, evaluates medical conditions, and provides consultations, and a Health Aide assists with the personal care.

The Adult Day Health Care Center is a fee for service program. However, Casa de Esperanza does not deny services due to an inability to pay. Currently we have contracts with Pima Health System, Veterans Administration, and COPE to supplement the costs for those who qualify. Casa provides some scholarships to individuals who cannot afford the care, and are not eligible under the above contracts.

The program is operated Monday – Friday 9:00 – 4:00. An individual may attend for the full day or partial day. Transportation is available to and from the program utilizing our wheelchair accessible vans.

ADHC fees:

Monday - Friday $55/day
Transportation - $6.00 each way
